If you searched for the P-Shot® or a PRP shot for men, this page explains what we offer instead. Those names describe platelet-rich plasma from your own blood injected into the penis. We no longer use PRP. Our injection uses umbilical cord–derived tissue matrix products, a connective tissue matrix product and an extracellular matrix product, placed into the penile tissue to supplement and support it. No product of this kind is FDA approved for any use, and we do not use it to treat erectile dysfunction or any other condition.
Start with the cause
Erectile difficulty is a symptom, and it usually has a cause that can be found: low testosterone, blood-vessel disease, diabetes, medications, sleep apnea, stress or depression. Injecting anything before looking for the cause is backwards. Because we are a hormone and longevity clinic, your consultation includes a review of your history and, where indicated, labs: testosterone and related hormones, blood sugar and lipids. If the cause is hormonal, treating the hormones comes first. If it is vascular, we will tell you what that means for your heart as well as your erections. This is the part of the visit that matters most, and it happens whether or not you choose the injection.
Who this is for
Men who want to discuss a non-drug, non-surgical option for sexual function or sensation, after an evaluation, and men who are already treating an underlying cause and want to add to that plan. It is not for men with an active infection, a bleeding disorder or certain penile conditions; your provider will say so at the consultation.
What we inject
The connective tissue matrix product is umbilical cord tissue kept close to its natural structure: hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin and other connective tissue components. It is combined with an extracellular matrix product from the same kind of source. Both are donated by screened mothers in the United States after full-term, scheduled cesarean births, processed by tissue banks that are registered with the FDA and accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks, minimally manipulated, free of DMSO and added chemicals, and tested for sterility lot by lot. The visit, step by step
- Consultation. Private, unhurried, with the evaluation above. The consultation is free.
- Numbing. A strong topical anesthetic is applied and given time to work.
- The injection. A small number of injections into the penile tissue. The procedure itself takes a few minutes, and most men describe pressure rather than pain.
- Afterwards. You return to your day. We give written instructions on activity and when sexual activity can resume.
- Follow-up. One injection is the usual starting point; whether to repeat it is decided with your provider after a few months.
What to expect, honestly
We will not promise you results on a web page. The evidence for tissue products injected into the penis is early, and men’s responses vary widely. What we can tell you is what the product is, how it is sourced and tested, and what our patients have reported; that conversation belongs at your consultation, with your evaluation in front of us. Where men do notice a change in sensation or function, it is usually over several weeks, not days. Individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Risks
Expect some tenderness, swelling or bruising at the injection sites for a few days. Uncommon risks include infection, a lump or firmness at an injection site, and pain with erection for a short period. Because the products are donated human tissue, there is a small risk of an immune or allergic reaction and a screening-reduced but not zero risk of disease transmission. Long-term data on these products are limited. We review blood thinners and other medications first.
Related options

If medication such as sildenafil or tadalafil is the right first step for you, we will say so; it is often the most effective and least expensive option, and there is no reason to skip it for an injection.
